History of the Foundation
The Blumhardt Foundation was established in 2003 to realise the desire of founder Dame Doreen Blumhardt to use her collection and estate to further the collection and the development of New Zealand's craft/object art during and beyond her lifetime.

NEW TRUSTEE
Brian Wood has joined the Board of Trustees of the Foundation. With a diverse background in the arts and fundraising, Brian is currently Head of Marketing & Development for Museums Wellington. He has held positions at Mossgreen-Webb’s, the Dowse Art Museum, Te Omanga Hospice and the Royal New Zealand Ballet. Brian has a fine art degree majoring in ceramics, has curated exhibitions, written catalogue essays and is a known collector who often loans works for exhibitions.
